The 29-year-old is available. The Independent understands his camp see this as a “sensitive time” as he strategises his path forward.

Thiago has been overwhelmingly linked to Liverpool, largely through supposed word from Bayern’s dressing room that the Premier League champions are his destination of choice.

Recent reports linking Thiago Alcantara to Liverpool all point to the player’s exit from Bayern Munich, according to one club legend.


The Spain international continues to be tipped to join Jurgen Klopp’s side this summer, with the Bundesliga champions thought to be keen on cashing in on his services.

Klopp a fan of Thiago but won't confirm Liverpool interest in Bayern Munich star

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says Thiago Alcantara “is a really good player” but refused to confirm whether the Reds are interested in signing the Bayern Munich midfielder.

Speculation has gathered pace this week suggesting the Spain international was on the verge of leaving Bayern for the newly-crowned Premier League champions.

The 29-year-old is about to enter the final year of his contract in Bavaria and talks over a new deal have seemingly reached an impasse, meaning Bayern may consider a cut-price sale this summer rather than risk the player leaving on a free transfer next year.
